Second Chance — Description

The story was different every time. Most of the time it was urbexing, scaling tall buildings or sneaking into unauthorized locations on camera. However, now and then it would be the occasional bar fight.
This was the worst it has been however. Probably the dumbest thing. The attention of all things prior wasn't filling any voids so she needed to go deeper.
This time, she planned one of her wild stunts to involve stealing a rare and valuable jewel from the city's upscale jewelry store-- with the intent of returning it of course...she was no thief. Not a real one at least. Karra was after the publicity, the eyes...and oh, did she get them--
--From the police department.
She was looking at prison for this one. All her infractions had been adding up, and her luck had run out. Or so she thought.
And then, the old woman walks in...
"What are you supposed to be, my therapist? I'm not suicidal."
"I did not say you were."
Karra scoffs and reclines in her chair. It isn't the first time she's been in a room like this, probably won't be the last either.
"And as far as I'm concerned, I may be the only one willing to give you a second chance."
Karra pauses. She scans the frail woman before her and leans forward.
"Who are you? You're not a cop."
A smile stretches across the old woman's face. She hesitates and answers.
"You can call me Claire Montell. I'm a ...family friend. See, that is what I admire about you. Observant...and crazy. I can work with that."
Karra gawks and squints.
" All these wild stunts you've been pulling? You like to be seen. You like to get people talking. To fight...To live dangerously. I get that. But...none of that is worth getting locked up over.
She pauses.
"I can pay for your release and we can walk out of here and discuss things. Or I can leave you back in one of those cells."
"...This is sketchy as shit, you know that right?"
"I know."
Claire chuckles softly and folds her arms, well aware that Karra has very few options. Karra grumbles, taps her foot, and plays with her hair before sighing.
"Okay, fine...shit."
"Very well, then. I will get this taken care of. You can thank me later. I will pick you up shortly."
Claire leaves the room gracefully, leaving Karra to ponder her intentions...

I intentionally started up with the comics the way I did to skip the A.N.T. Squad's reinstatement/origin story. I felt throwing the audience into the world made more sense for the tone and theme, with background elements given gradually over time.
Each of them are troubled / have been on the wrong side of the law in some form or another.
