Comfort — Description
Another practice piece.
The great stock photo I used as reference for this is from *Tw1stedTruth-stock . The specific image is no longer in her gallery. To me the photo spoke of a special unspoken comfort between sisters or friends, which is what I was trying to catch in my painting. I changed very little from the original stock photo (closed one of the models eyes, cropped the image some so it had the balance I wanted, changed the background and base color).
All in all, I really like this painting, though most of the credit should go to the stock photographer who took the picture I used for reference.

This was done in Photoshop LE. I tried using just the paintbrush tool, with a very small amount of dodge and burn. (Usually I use the airbrush tool the most). I used only four layers, as opposed to the dozens I use in most of my work. One layer for each of the main subjects, one for the cloth they are on and one for the background. I thought it might be more like painting traditionally that way and faster. It was fun, but not faster by any means.
As usual, any critique is welcome. I know some of the edges probably should have been cleaned up a bit, but it was mainly a practice piece and I liked it the way it came out.
