Description Brawn over Brains. For you Wolverine fans, you're welcome. For you Batman fans, sorry. You should go here [link] instead for Bruce outfighting James.

SO MUCH reference and appropriation in this painting.

Obviously my painting style is adopted from Alex Ross. Some technical work i learned from watching Gabriele Dell'Otto. For Wolverine's clothes and enormous amounts of hair, i remember from an old 1996 X-Men comic that my cousin gave me that was penciled by Andy Kubert and Cedric Nocon. I was going to do the Clayton Crain, X-Force Wolverine, but i really wanted to do the hair, bandanna look. I did, however look at the bloody variants of his covers. Brutal! I like Ross's Batman but it can be kind of boring colour-wise in comparison to somebody as colourful as Wolverine so i looked at Jim Aparo and Tatjana Wood's work. Alex Sinclair's colours in Hush helped a bit. Jim Lee draws the meanest Wolverine and Batman and Batcave. For lighting and blades, inspiration was taken from Francesco Matt Mattina's Deadpool for the cover of Thunderbolts #130. The position is taken from Black Belt Magazine. Photograph by Rick Hustead. Lastly, i don't know these people's names, but i found their pictures on Google Image search for Wolverine's facial hair, i just looked up Mutton Chops.

Okay, so my main argument here is that Batman would be better equipped to duke it out with Wolverine but for the sake of the painting, i think it was best to not have an arsenal in his Batcave, and to not have crazy armour and gadgets. BUT, i do figure that he would do away with his Kevlar and titanium armour and put some adamantium in his cowl and maybe as his throwing knives.

Charcoal

**UPDATE**
A LOT of stuff was bothering me. Mainly the water stain/paint stroke things. Contrasts, glows, hues....everything, i needed to fix. But overall, it's still the same thing.
