I met the strongest man in the world the other day.
He didn?t have a neck wider than his head.
He didn?t lift anything he could drop.
He shaves his legs because
He feels more comfortable that way.
He digs theatre and hot chocolate,
And just about everything else
As far as I can tell.

I met someone as confident as I am not.
I met someone as steadfast as I am not.
I met someone as warm as I am not.
And I was warm for a while,
The other day.

I met the strongest man in the world the other day.
His supporters were a sight for sore eyes.
I could see where he drew his strength.
There were no interior decorators,
No conversations about
the degradation of today?s youth,
And its choice of clothing.
Just a few people and a few board games.
And that was enough.

The strongest man in the world,
Gave me some strength,
When he told me,
?That?s just how life goes.?
It took the strongest man in the world
To figure that out.
And if it took the strongest man in the world,
I?m afraid I don?t stand a chance.
I try and repeat those words,
But they seem dismissive;
A method for displacement.
And I breathe displacement.
