Emerald — Description
Emerald was a rumored secret character from Mortal Kombat II. She was first mentioned on the March/April 1994 issue of Game Informer. She was described as a “Mileena-ish character” wearing a green outfit, but with a different shade of green than Jade’s.

Since the article stated that the player had to perform a fatality on Jade in order to fight Emerald and that wasn’t possible in MK2, people ruled her out as a joke and nothing about Emerald ever came to surface again. Funny enough, the article also described Smoke as “a Raiden look-a-like who used smoke instead of electricity”. You gotta love the 1990s.
