TPL: Ruby's Plot — Description

The idea had come from Hemaka. Or rather, his need for a certain magical relic outside of their grasp. Ruby had been his acolyte for moons now, learning all she could about local healing practices, the gods, and the strange ancient magics that occasionally clung to enchanted amulets and talismans. They were so few and far between these days, and between the two of them, they were lucky to have one such amulet. It helped elderly Hemaka to retain a youthful look but- as they started to realize - it did not grant him the strength of youth, and so his body continued to weaken with age.
But in their current era, where dark spirits haunted the Nile Delta and their prophesized all-out attack on the living fast approaching, this was no time for weakness. It's known that the only way to stop the spirits and send them back to where they belong can only be done by a Seeker - a seer of all seers. And so they took a vote, and had decided that Hemaka should be the one to lead them. But with his weakening body, such a journey to the sacred Seer temple would be hard going, if not impossible.
That's when Hemaka remembered another magical amulet that may be able to help him; an amulet with the power to grant him physical strength. With it, he would be able to make the journey to the temple, as well as conduct the new Seeker Ceremony. The only problem? It's current owner was none other than the ambitious new pharaoh of Pride Shemu - King Rakesh. There was no way he would give up the amulet easily, even for the good of the whole Delta.
So Ruby devised a plan; a plot to make a duplicate amulet. Then, they would only need to get close to King Rakesh, and find a way to swap them. Once Hemaka had both amulets, he would be strong enough to make the journey and ascend as the Delta's new Seeker. The plan would be kept secret between them and those who needed to know; if word got out, their plan would be ruined. So Ruby drew up the plans and brought them to their Crafter acolyte, Prince Ahat. With any luck, he would be able to create a convincing copy.
And if the plan worked...maybe the Delta could be saved.
