Ember's Assistant — Description

In my AU, Smolder is Ember's assistant in the same way Spike is Twilight's assistant. Ember is training Smolder to be a friendship ambassador.
I expressed before that Smolder and Spike's relationship wasn't as interesting as his relationships with Ember and Thorax, because there isn't a mutual exchange happening and/or they don't have anything in common besides being dragons living in pony society. Also, Smolder stole Ember's role in the show by being Spike's main dragon friend who is his access to dragon culture.
I would have it where while Ember provides the political/historical access to dragon culture, Smolder provides the more down-to-earth side of dragon culture, like media, art, games, slang, biology, stuff like that. And in turn Spike helps Smolder embrace her feminine interests, like dressing up, tea parties, baking, etc. In canon it was Ocellus who helped Smolder embrace her feminine side, but it would mean more coming from Spike, as a comparison between a dragon raised in a society that embraced femininity and sensitivity vs a dragon raised in a society that encouraged repression of all that.
Also... barely related, but am I the only one who gets peeved when people refer to Ember post-Gauntlet as Princess Ember, instead of Dragon Lord Ember? Get it right. I'm gonna tag Princess Ember so people can find the post tho.
