Lord Wander — Description

My first contribution to the fandom; an AU.

So I just got into a new show called Wander Over Yonder (highly recommended if you liked Powerpuff Girls or Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.) It's a really cute cartoon, but it doesn't have much of a main plot. Like most of McCracken's cartoons, it's more character-driven than plot-driven. Nonetheless, it's this really happy show that deserves more popularity.

And with all happy cartoons that I come across, there always has to be a dark side.

Lord Wander AU

Something happens to Sylvia and he'll never see her again (either captured or killed in the hands of Lord Hater.) He becomes really depressed, but he still tries to help folks around the galaxy. Every time he does, it reminds him of all the good times that he and Sylvia had. It's not the same without her and it's just too sad to think about it, so he just stops doing good all together. He still tries to hold an optimistic view of things. "Everything happens for a reason," he repeats to himself, "Maybe the rest of eternity by my lonesome will benefit me somehow and make me a better person." However, now that Sylvia isn't around, he has no one to look after him. Hater takes this advantage and captures Wander with ease.

Instead of the energetic, game-playing Wander that Hater was expecting, he gets this poor, pathetic sad thing and he's a bit disappointed. "Oh is this all because your stupid horse friend is gone?" Hater questions, "If I'd have known that you were going to turn into THIS pathetic thing, I would've never done-" As Lord Hater catches himself, he knows that it's too late. Wander's eyes pop open with fear. "You would've never done what?" Hater stumbles and stutters trying to cover up what he'd almost revealed, but it was clear at this point. Hater was responsible for the disappearance of Sylvia.

Vengeful, he flees the room to find where Hater keeps his weapons and grabs one of the laser guns. The Watchdogs try to stop him, but he violently shoves them out of the way, disregarding them, and goes straight to Hater. "Tell me where Sylvia is right now or else." Wander is absolutely furious. The Watchdogs come to Hater's aid, but he pulls out a second gun. "I'm not letting this go until you tell me where you trapped my Sylvia!" Hater panics and tells Wander that she's dead just to make him drop the situation, but it only made it worse. Wander's mind was set on avenging Sylvia (or destroying Lord Hater.) After an epic battle between Hater and Wander, Wander somehow manages to win (probably by going berserk) proving his dominance and proved that he could be a real threat if he wanted to be. And he did.

Lord Wander took the throne, the Watchdogs had a new ruler, and Hater is no longer with us. Commander Peepers refuses to be on the same ship with someone who took someone that was so close to him, so Peepers went on to make a life for himself and become his own villian. Some of the Watchdogs support Peepers and fight with him. Others stand by their new leader, Lord Wander. His army is split in half; one half giving in to their new found leader and the other half fighting in the name of Lord Hater. The two armies are constantly in war.

TL;DR version: Wander believes that Hater killed Sylvia, so he goes berserk and kills Hater in a brawl. Wander is now "Lord Wander" as he takes the throne. The watchdogs are split in half; those who fight for Peepers (in the name of Lord Hater) and those who stand by their new leader (Wander.) War happens.

This is just a brief summary of how Lord Wander became Lord Wander. I've written out many aspects of this AU (what power he has, how he treats the loyal watchdogs, if he ever gets reformation, etc.) And I have all of winter break to work on this. I'm hella excited.
