Grylon Rider Final — Description
The Aeldricht people are similar in many ways to Tolkien's elves in their physical traits, but their culture more closely resembles ancient China. Grylon Riders form a large portion of the Light Cavalry elements, and are the core of the fast attack units of the Dragon Empire's Army. Grylon are a strange mixing of an avian breed and a mammalian breed, that has resulted in a bipedal creature similar in many aspects to an Ostrich. Grylon are Carnivorous and have been known to attack humans, aeldar, and aeldricht in the wilds. They have a very short breeding cycle, and their infancy to maturity cycle is also relatively short. A typical Grylon lives between 40 and 50 years, and will reproduce between 100 and 300 times in that period. Once a Grylon has found a mate, they will mate only with that specimen, until one or the other of the couple dies. Their call is a crooning almost howl that sounds similar to the kinds of noises whales have been found to make during their mating seasons. Known to range for thousands of miles through the Paerth Grasslands and Plains, they are non-migratory, instead following food supplies in the form of gazelles, antelopes, and other herding mammals.
