Alright, this is a new thing I tried.

It's just a simple animation, but it had a surprising number of issues.
The main image is an animated GIF, which, after a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth, I finally got to a decent quality. The issue with GIF images is that they are an older format that can only handle a palate of 256 colours. So most attempts at turning a high-res image into a GIF ends up with it looking really bad.

The second image is an animated PNG, which maintains the original quality of the image, but APNGs aren't exactly well-supported. So those are kind of the choices.

I also made a WEBP image, which can hold animation data, but DA doesn't accept them well. (Also, we all hate those anyways.) I also made an MP4 video, but that's a bit overkill.

At any rate, another silly thing is that if I upload the APNG alone to DA, it doesn't animate. But if I upload the GIF first and then add the APNG onto it then the APNG will animate. So go figure.

So anyways, my suggestion is to enjoy the second image more. It's retains the original quality.
