I have never been so simultaneously proud and ashamed of a work in my life. The subject matter is...well, let's face it, crap; but the composition actually seems to draw the eye in the direction I want it to go (speech balloon, RD's gaze, godawful book cover), the horizon and perspective works, the line weights are varied.The shading on the color needs more finesse, and I probably need to revisit the attempt to texture the hair, but for me, this isn't half bad. Except for the fact that the idea behind the picture is awful.
Oh, and it's the damn ponies again. I should be drawing robots, but the pencil wants to sketch ponies.

I too should be drawing dinosaurs and other character. Yet my mind is stuck in Equestria. *sigh* Some just can' avoid the pony fever.

I was a very reluctant "brony" at first; I've resigned myself to just letting it take its course.
But I think the thing about the ponies is they look deceptively easy to draw. And they're not bad, until you start working on perspective, composition, poses you can't copy straight from a screenshot...they've proven highly educational in that respect, because I keep thinking I can do stuff with them that wouldn't try with more "complex" characters, and so I actually try those things for the first time and make the mistakes I need to make in order to learn.
