[PR] Leaking [LU] — Description
Leveling Pyre up from level 3 to 4! Prompt: Draw, write or roleplay your cat struggling with their power or the knowledge of their soul class/shade (Minimum full body drawing, some background required OR 1200 words of literature OR minimum 10-post RP). I got permission from Cal to interpret this prompt as "struggling with the knowledge of their soul partner".
This is from a private rp I did with Crowfen immediately after Pyre soul-rooted with Pine at the end if Interim 1. Pine and Pyre were called to the Blackwater Creek where they had trained before....

Pyre saw Pine’s red pelt, all but glowing beneath the twin red suns, and the earth beneath them seemed to lurch forward. It felt like they were too close to Pine, like they could feel his breath on their whiskers, like his scent would never wash out of their fur. Yet somehow they were still all the way across the stream. They halted with water lapping at their paws and - and -
And a tempest awoke around them, kicking up sand and water and threatening to yank them from the stream. A storm that Pine could recognize from the first Trial. A furious, wordless screech came from their bared teeth. Gales raked against the rocks and crystals and rattled the pebbles on the shore until the wind itself was screaming, too. Utter rage.
For the first time since arriving in the Valley, since arriving in Hoffra’s colony, Pyre lost their temper. If they could not outrun Pine's mind, they would chase him out.

(The scent of flowers is so sickly sweet at the springs. Nothing at all like Py has imaged flowers would smell, nothing like cactus sap. The water is a constant roar, like wind, and there are bees all over the place and to Py’s fascination there are - there are - creatures in the water! With glimmering scales and giant glossy eyes! They’ve heard other nomads speak of fish, but they imagined them to be the size of bugs. These are bigger. The smallest are large enough to swallow dragonflies. The cold water washes over their paws and tugs at their whiskers as they stare struck with awe. Another, smaller reflection tumbles into view, splashing and scattering the fish. Thorn smiles and -)

Pyre sat down in the water, and the winds stopped. A sadness pierced their heart so sharply they suddenly couldn’t breathe. Grief and misery and a longing for their brother circled in their head, chaining them to the shallow banks of the stream.

Pyre has skated by their traumatic upbringing by drowning their feelings as they arise. The longer they are linked to Pine, though, the more they notice these feelings leaking into the world around them. They don't really care what strangers have to say about the things they have done, but Pine is not a stranger. What if Pine hates what he sees? What if Pyre hates it, too?

(I cut a lot of the rp to make this snippet but my favorite line from Pyre ever is when they MEANT to say "Your thoughts are no burden to me, I just want you to respect my privacy" and ACTUALLY said "I don't give a shit what you're thinking!" because NOTHING summarizes their social skills better than that.)
