He's Not Having a Fun Time — Description

“Why didn’t you come… back?” With every flickering shard of agony swirling in his spark chamber, he dragged his helm up, meeting expressionless optics muddied with red, the twin lights bouncing and glitching into a thousand reflections. “For a year, you were… hfk— gone. I thought you were… were dead. Why…”
He ground in a chuttering wheeze, grinding his denta, feeling pink oozing through his internals, running cold down his frame. “Didn’t you… come back?”
The Hot Shot angst still haunts me, so I randomly decided to do a lil quick slap-happy doodle and experiment with some stuff. Mostly I just wanted something to use some ink effects on because I recently rediscovered that I love inking and I am apparently an idiot because I completely forgot that I love doing weird stuff with it until I did that one traditional piece a while back and went O.O
It's also a lot quicker and easier to draw things when you barely bother with undo and trying to make it perfect, who woulda thunk. I inked it practically without the undo button (i did once because one line i drew was wildly off) and man, can't tell you how freeing it is to just let the mistakes and the weird wobbly bits be. We just call it ✨aesthetics✨ and that excuses everything.
Oh, yeah, in case you're wondering, I whacked this guy to heck and back in a fanfic I recently finished, hence the quote at the top there, and this is why he's appearing here as he is because uh, pain I would put it in blockquotes but dang, why they make them so big? Weird formatting it is, like everything on the internet likes to force me into, it seems. Another quote from the same chapter was more what I was thinking of when I drew this, but I don't think I'll throw that one out in the wild.
