It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, and I was deep into a game in my office, fingers tapping rhythmically on the keyboard. From the other room came the occasional thud of drawers opening, a few frustrated sighs, and then a muttered curse.
Michelle was getting ready for the upcoming music festival—trying on outfits, from the sound of it. I remembered she’d mentioned how important it was for her influencer account, still in its early stages, to make a splash this weekend. Then I heard her voice through the door, sharp with annoyance: “Ugh, nothing fits right… I need something stunning.”
A pause, then quieter, “Okay, maybe now’s the time to try that new app…”
A few minutes of silence followed—until a loud, unsteady scream echoed from the bedroom. Not fear, exactly… more like shocked delight. Then, her voice again—only now it sounded deeper, fuller, and oddly resonant: “Babe! Come here! You NEED to see this!”
I stood up, puzzled. That’s when I heard them: thud… thud…—dull, heavy footfalls, shaking the hallway floor just outside my door. I opened the door and froze.
She stood there, over two and a half meters tall, towering in the hallway in massive black platform boots, wrapped in a white festival outfit that shimmered with confidence. Her long legs stretched far above my head, and she looked down at me with the smuggest, most excited grin I’d ever seen.
“So… how do you like it?”
