Our Last Day... — Description
... won't be pretty

This is how basically I envision humanity last day on god's green earth, which was the theme given for the Darksiders contest
i chose to start from scratch and not use any of the resources given
i can say it was a shot in the dark but it came out quite well in my opinion
not that pretty
depends on the apocalyptic that each person has
some might picture it like 2012, day after tomorrow... or something completely different

I had the idea for this piece while browsing around on dA, initially it was supposed to be a man trapped in what looked like the resin the xenomorphs in alien used to build the sanctums and i started messing around and ended up with lots of skin being torn and melted from the body.
The vision behind this would be that the world would indeed come to an end not by our hands not by god but completely random and in a confusing manner not giving mankind a chance to flee to space or anything like it.

[edit] decided to review this again added a lighter skin tone to make it more... skin like and added a slight texture to the skin
[edit] i know i was frgetting something, this time not on the piece
i forgot to say that this was the first painting where i painted only on Painter X
only used photoshop for the base and some after effects
