Description
When I went to my brother's graduation, I got to spend some quality time with two of my aunts and my mom. Among the night's topics was health issues. In particular, my mom told about these "visual anomalies" that occur in the corner of her eyes, the very edge of her peripheral vision. It's apparently a sign of something fairly major, but unfortunately I can't quite remember. Also, albeit I took notes down and made a few concept sketches of what she described (she'd even told my aunts about considering asking me to paint it), the only thing I didn't write down was the color scheme. I'm going to ask her for some details, but I decided to just try some techniques with ink and watercolor.I knew I wanted to use the negative filter to turn the blue backgrounds to a kind of dark yellow or orange because it worked so well for The 707th Day. It's much like what you might see if you press your fingers against your closed eyelids. As for the "lightning," I remembered that my red Sharpie looked a surprisingly ice blue in negative instead of the expected green.
