Basic basic background tut — Description
This is the most basic of backgrounds tutorial. I see a lot of Sonic artists who don't draw backgrounds because they're afraid of them.

What they don't realize is that a background is basically a horizon line with some stuff around it, like mountains or clouds. I drew my examples very simplistically because I want anybody to be able to draw similar things. Backgrounds are just shapes and a horizon line.

Now, there's also the demon called Perspective, but that's for a more in-depth tutorial, and I dare say other artists have made better ones.
