Magic Homework - Week 2 — Description

Oops! Homework! I forgot! With everyone running around for Heartkindle I got distracted from practicing for my Melt Materials ability!
But there was one day left so I grabbed my brother Dryft and forced persuaded him to be my practice buddy.
He said he had already done practicing the past 5 days and wasn't interested, but with a little poking and prodding, (I was pretty desperate) he came around.

I was surprised he had said he was practicing all week, though. I noticed he wasn't really able to melt his block of ice that easily. (Or at all? Not sure if he did or not)
He kept dipping his frozen fingers in a bowl of hot water as instructed by Ms. Netty to keep himself warm.

I didn't really need to water, though. My paws were almost uncomfortably hot once I started melting the ice! Just took a little bit of determination at first. Then with a little hiss the ice was literally evaporating between my fingers! It was actually really neat! I could even write the letters of my name into the surface of the ice, haha. Before I knew it, the chunk was all gone!

"Dryft look! I did it! See this puddle! That was a big block of ice like 2 seconds ago! Isn't magic amazing?!" I pointed to the puddle on the table, but Dryft didn't look very thrilled.
He was currently soaking his fingers in the warm water again. I heard a soft grumble come from his throat.
"What's wrong?"
"What do you think..."
I frowned. I guess it wasn't fair for me to get the hang of this so fast when he was still struggling. I decided to try and encourage him.
"Awww you'll get it! Look! Your ice is starting to melt pretty good there! See the puddle around it?"
Dryft just glared at me, "....That's because it's a chunk of ICE. ICE MELTS." He stopped yelling once his head twitched in an uncomfortable motion and he looked distressed about something. Another migrane coming on perhaps? I didn't know what to say at that point. Everyone in our class was learning magic without many hitches. Were some Wyngro incapable of learning certain elements? Poor Dryft...

This one is first person Nymble story! XD It wasn't supposed to be first person but just kinda... happened like that. Lol oh well.
Dryft is still having a hard time. Certainly doesn't appreciate the COLD, that's for sure. Hopefully he'll pick something up soon! 8(
