The creature's long tongue snaked quickly around her body, pinning her arms to her sides as it tightened its grip. She struggled to bring her blade up with the thought of somehow slipping its edge between her hip and the coils of the beast. At the touch of the knife, the tentacle spasmed, driving a thousand tiny barbs into her naked flesh, and the dagger slipped from her grasp.
