Description I did this for my final in 3d modeling.

I'm not sure that everyone will be able to get it, so I'll explain. It's supposed to be a go board with the stones arranged in such a way that it looks like a game of pong - a reference to the fact that Atari got it's name from a Go term.

I made the wood texture in Photoshop because it was the best way I could think of to get it seemless. I think I might still have some work to do to make it a bit more realistic. The whole thing was modeled and rendered in Lightwave.

I'm not sure if I'm entirely done with this piece or not. The go board still lacks legs because I can't really tell what they shouold look like from the pictures I've found. It also lacks texture for the sides that aren't visable. Suggestions for future versions and comments in general are encouraged.

First things first: A goban!! Yay! ^^P Great concept with the pong and the wood look comes across as really real. ^^ Hehe.
On the other hand, I agree with laurichg - mebbe have more black space at the top by taking it from an angle more horizontal...? Did that make sense? Hmm. Either way, I'm not very good at looking at 3d stuff so... ^^;

OK I'll give you my 2 cents here. I do like the overall look of your piece. You did a good job with the rendering the wood texture and incorporating "pong" (actually remember that game) into the go board. My only complaint is that it is to static. Any way to increase the amount the board stretches away from you? You may also want to increase the shading for dramatic effect. I'm no expert on your program so I'm looking at it from an artistic/designer point of view. I do like the piece, it just needs a little fine tuneing! (and I need a spell checker)

I thought it was real Teeahhaha (seriously)
Very good and symmetric .. which reminds me that I have to learn a 3d program too ..
