perfect preparation — Description

episode 4 release last thursday changed my brain chemistry so here is the fruit of my labor
had to write this into the deep lore of my warrior cats!jjk au sooo here’s cat maki, cat mai, and cat yuta . . ! was practicing anatomy here
so in the au maki and mai (unnamed at the time) are born into an abusive rogue clowder and placed at the lowest level in the hierarchy of the rogues because 1. they were born as she-kits (yes, the clowder is misogynistic) and 2. they were born twins, which is seen as bad luck amongst the clowder. they are demeaned and abused their entire kithood, until they sneak away one day and are taken into a clan. though, they’re separated, makikit going to ThrushClan and rennamed murkkit and maikit going to KestrelClan and renamed mincekit. anyways!
murkpaw is a very tough and no-nonsense apprentice, growing up learning that she had to be strong on her own and that proving herself as the best is the most important thing. she has very impressive fighting skills but is still a touch weaker than most cats due to her smaller stature from birth. mincepaw, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with glory or even warriorhood, and grows up resenting her cross-clan sister because she thinks she’s trying to outshine her, yada yada.
fast forward, murkstrike and mincedart, major rift between the two. when darkblood (kenjaku) stages and attack on both clans murkstrike and two others get thrown into a human campfire by a pair of darkblood’s rogue army. murkstrike and nettlemint (nanami) make it out alive but the KestrelClan elder doesn’t.
later on, murkstrike and mincedart are kidnapped by the few remaining members their birth clowder (mostly the high council and a few soldiers), and nearly killed by what remains of the group. mincedart makes a life sacrifice which gives murkstrike a “blood blessing”; when two cats are on the verge of death, one can make a blood sacrifice and give their life force over to the other cat. not only does it heal them to the point of living, but it also gives them a “physical blessing” and enhances their physical prowess. so mincedart is now dead and murkstrike is blessed. murkstrike then killed every single one of the clowder members btw they are all dead now!
then there’s yewheart (yuta). ily bro i’ll get into your backstory later but he’s being haunted by his childhood best friend rookkit which is a whole nother thing i will get into LATER! yewheart and murkstrike are married later on btw
also he didn’t technically kill anyone. he needed to pretend he did for plot reasons ok don’t mind the blood
holy infodump! i have a lot on this au guys i could talk so much more i haven’t even gotten into blue moon blessings or spirit pacts or vessels or even the main storyline. someday!!!
