Amalgam Secret Wars Homage (Color Edition) — Description

The color version is finished!
This is my Amalgam Comics / Secret Crisis / Secret Wars-inspired cover homage, fully inked and colored. I’m posting two versions here: one presented on my Art of Mental Pablum art board, and one cropped closer to the finished cover art.
This started as a “wouldn’t it be cool if…” idea: taking that classic giant crossover-cover energy and rebuilding it through the wonderfully weird lens of the Amalgam Universe. The goal was to capture that packed-to-the-edges superhero chaos where every character is fighting for space, every pose is dialed up, and the whole thing feels like it should have a “limited series event” banner slapped across the top.
Featured in the piece are characters like Super-Soldier, Dark Claw, Spider-Boy, Iron Lantern, Doctor Strangefate, Thorion, Skulk, Amazon, Rocky Grimm, She-Devil, Nightcreeper, Wonder Wasp, and more.
The biggest challenge was keeping the crowd readable once the colors went in. With this many characters, one wrong color choice and the whole thing turns into superhero soup. Delicious soup, maybe, but still soup.
