Had to make some adjustments - render for 's Night Raven vs. Lord Ether -- Part 12“She’s here somewhere, isn’t she?” Lord Ether gestured around vaguely with his cane, glancing back down at the bound heroine. “I know she is.”
Firebird glanced over beside her. Her quiver had fallen in the grass, next to her compound bow. The arrows were scattered everywhere. She looked up at the villain, both hands grasped desperately where they were pinned at her sides.
“You really are nuts, aren’t you?” Firebird said through clenched teeth. Her right hand grabbed an arrow shaft.
Lord Ether chuckled, glancing over his shoulder at the dormitory. “She’s there, isn’t she?” He looked back at Firebird, his maddeningly blank white face mask revealing nothing. “No need to tell me. I already know.”
“Then why do you need me?” Firebird said. She rolled slightly to one side, trying to mask her hand holding the arrow. The tip was razor sharp. If she could get it against the cords—
