I can picture this scenario perfectly:

Eggman Nega is the villain of this story, and has created a Techo-Organic Virus, far worse then Dr. Eggman's original Metal Virus. After a long and excruciating battle, Sonic and his friends manage to defeat him, but at the cost of Silver being infected, worse still... there's no cure. The only way to destroy what's left of the Techno-Virus is to be isolated inside a pocket dimension, at least until they can find a way to fix this. Everyone agrees to send him to "White Space".

We come full circle with Silver's story arc as he's the one to make the sacrifice play, the same that Blaze did for his and the future all those years ago. Blaze embraces her best friend in tears: "It can't end like this! Your not leaving us!... and I'm not leaving you!" but she knows this is what Silver must do if they want to keep the world safe. In an emotional goodbye, Silver kisses Blaze's forehead: "No matter how long it takes, i promise i will come back to you, all of you!" and using two familiar chaos emeralds, Silver seals himself away to an empty corner of the universe.

"Keep the future safe for me..."

"Good luck, Blaze!"
