Thanks, that was helpful. I love how you colour metal.
One little thing though, you CAN merge selected layers. 'Merge shown layers' only merges the layers that are set to visible, so if you set a layer to invisible using the face icon, it won't be merged.
I know this tut is a couple of years old now, so ignore me if you already knew that xx

And I use OC 1.1 as well. All other versions aren't free.
After applying the dark rosy areas, I took the watercolor tool and changed the color to white, which is the transparent color for layers on OC. From there, I blotched out the edges until it blended well with the skin - in a similar way to how I blotched in the skin. If you feel like it's still too dark, you can always use the opacity filter and drop the layer to be more transparent.

That's my primary reason for using OC - it's simplistic. I'm primarily a traditional artist, so digital mediums can get really confusing for me. OC's been a blessing.
And no problem! I'm always willing to answer any questions. If you need me to visually detail any of the sections, I'll see what I can do. I made 100 print screens, so I'm sure I could elaborate on many of the steps.
