Inktober 2017 - Long — Description
An abstract prompt for today, huh?

The first thing I thought of was a pole, then a ruler...but then I figured "hey, this is sort of an abstract prompt, so let's think outside the box". When I think of "long" in terms of the abstract, "time" comes to mind.

Then, I just had to choose whether to draw something Detective Conan related, or something Pokemon related (as both franchises popped into mind when I thought of time since they've both been running for over 20 years).

I ultimately went with Detective Conan, because it's been over 20 years since it first came out...and poor Shinichi is STILL in the body of a 7-year-old. Even the manga hasn't finished yet.

Over TWENTY YEARS with no conclusion yet (that's what the hand pointing to the "4" in indicating; the 20 years)...it's sad.

Anyways, I don't have really good inking pens past some random markers I found and my black copic multiliners...so I tried to make-do with what I had because I really wanted this to be in "color". I didn't have a gray inking pen, so I tried to ease up on the pressure for the shorts (since Conan's shorts are gray).

I actually...kind of like how it came out, considering that inking techniques is a skill I never learned. Pretty much everything I did for this I just applied from HB shading techniques as well as some ink pictures I've seen.
