In Spider-Man Clone-Mania: Grimmified, I pay homage to several iconic comic books, video games, horror tropes, and pop culture franchises:
The Clone Saga: The inclusion of clones like Ben Reilly, Kaine Parker, and Aiden Cohen directly references Marvel's infamous arc in Spider-Man stories.
Patient Zero Trope: Designating a resurrected Pyrrha Nikos as "Patient Zero" mirrors classic survival-horror virus tropes (such as Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead).
Viral Spread via Biting/Water: The transmission mechanics of the Grimm Essence virus draw inspiration from standard outbreak things involving the MLP infection AUs.
The "Grimm-Lycan" & Were-Creatures: Ruby’s transformation into a Grimm-Lycan during full rage and Blake’s evolution into a "Werecat" pay homage to traditional werewolf folklore and biological transformations triggered by extreme emotion, trauma, or moonlight/instinct.
Incredible Hulk / Symbiote Rage: The mental struggle between the human mind and the Grimm essence uses metaphors of Hulk-like rage and symbiote internal dialogue, where the dark half acts like an internal voice tempting the host.
The Black Suit...
The most prominent story point, the Venom Symbiote & Black Suit serve as reformed use against the Grimm...
Bonding with Aidan Cohen: After a berserker, Grimmified Yang Xiao Long fatally stabs Aiden Cohen (The Blue Arachnid) with corrupting Grimm poison, Eddie Brock allows the Venom symbiote to bond with Aidan.
The Venomous Arachnid: By merging with the symbiote, Aidan transforms into The Venomous Arachnid. The symbiote's raw power and regeneration neutralize the lethal Grimm poison, giving him the enhanced strength necessary to stand toe-to-toe with Grimmified Yang and hold off her rampage.
Symbolic Return of the Black Suit: The story uses the Black Suit presence as both a literal power boost and a thematic role reversal. In Avengers Marvel Retelling of the Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, The Black Suit is what tempted Spider-Man's restrain against the dark impulses of its internal voice and rage, in the Grimmified story arc, those things are reverse since by this point, Venom has been redeemed into a Lethal Protector and used alongside Arachnid and Eddie deal with the Grimm Essence infection. Still Arachnid's fighting style is aggressive but controlled and direct, not driven by vengeance like Peter was years ago.
And it's also a deja vu due to the fact that both cities like New York and Vale faced both infections such like the combined events of Spider-Man 2 PS5 / Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and in this story but different infection things happened
