M.G.E. Roboter Risszeichnung - Perry Rhodan — Description

Built for versatility, and resilience in extreme environments, the M.G.E “Silen” is the go-to heavy utility robot on HELLESPONT’s growing new frontier. Almost every ship out on patrol carries a small contingent of these mechanical workhorses, deploying them from reconnaissance and exploration work deemed too taxing or dangerous for fleet personnel.

Leading cyberneticists of the colonies were tasked with the development of the MGE, intended to be a domestic and cheaper alternative to modern models from interstellar imports. The concessions the designers made were size and elegance, opting for a bulky, utilitarian design that does little to reinforce the image of cutting-edge robotic engineering. Nonetheless, in terms of their performance, the MGEs passed the hurdles of commissioning, and quickly came to be seen with some affection by starship crews.

The MGE fulfills possesses all the basic functions of a robotic utility type. It is able to serve as a sensor- and communications relay, mobile positronic terminal and processing unit, and an environmental stabilizer for nearby unprotected personnel.
Its mobility and resilience are guaranteed by a heavily armored hull, multiple energy screens, and multiple sets of levitation thrusters.

Probes, analytical tools, navigation kits, and manipulators are all kept in modular slots which can be made compatible with more advanced imported systems. The MGE was built with a hefty energy surplus in mind to accommodate future developments and increases in its capabilities. As a result, the MGE robot line is set to continue service and remain relevant for decades to come.
