Beastiary - Phoenixes — Description
Phoenixes are a species of demigod fire elementals from the fiery elemental plane of Pyros Infurnas, created by the Gods of Life and Fire Izayah and Dhistroiea. Dhistroiea wanted creatures that represented him so he asked Izayah to create phoenixes for him. They are creatures made up of the Life and Fire, and symbolize the eternal flame of life. On Earth, the phoenix population has been critically decimated due to being hunted by people in order to attempt to figure out the secret to their immortality, being killed because they were destructive to the environment, or being killed by fire and water dragons. When the Dragon King Malefelenz arrived to Earth with a vast number of his kind, they were immediately challenged by the phoenixes, who were outmatched by the dragons and had their population severely reduced. Due to all of these events phoenixes have become more reclusive.

Famously, phoenixes are known for their iconic ability live forever, as when they die they explode and rise from the ashes as a younger versions of themselves. Phoenixes can only be truly killed by having their ashes scattered too far apart, by being submerged in water for too long, being eaten, or being incinerated by dark fire. A phoenix's fire and their tears have the power to heal the sick and injured, even from the brink of death. Phoenixes live in inhospitably hot and humid environments like volcanoes, underground magma caves, and deserts. Their eggs are as hard as stone and only hatch in if they become too cold the unborn phoenix will die. Phoenixes can evolve as they become more powerful, in their second stage of evolution they become blue with a more regal appearance, and in their third and final stage they become white and burn with all the colors of the light spectrum and becoming true fire deities. If a phoenix transfers their essence to another creature they will become part phoenix being called a Phoenixkin.
