The relationship between magic systems for my book "How A Slacker Replaced The Demon Lord"

Couple of general notes, the actual magic is very simple. Mana is the power source, put that power source through some sort of spell, whether something physical or mental and then out comes the actual magic.

Most Humans don't have enough mana to do anything interesting without risking damaging themselves, Elves have a lot more and even then the spells you can perform safely as just an Elf by yourself is limited to something like creating a spark or seeing further.

Spirits are unbound balls of soul, mana is stored in the soul and can accumulate like dust bunnies. Some spirits garner enough intelligence and turn into the various Fae and Imp type creatures, which can use magic more intelligently.

Beast Magic and Dragon Magic are from creatures who have very high MP capacities, with some spells burnt into their blood line. The primary reason Dragon Magic is separated from Beast Magic is that Dragon Magic is significantly older and more refined than other Beasts.

Elven Magic was developed by... Elves... based off of their interactions with Fae and figuring out how to use monster parts to do Magic without the assistance of very tricky and often mischievous Fae.

Elemental Magic was developed by another faction of Elves and focused on developing and growing spirits that were attuned to specific elemental forms in order to use more powerful and controllable magic.

Daemons have a natural connection to the Infinite (The source of all magic and the space between dimensions), but it is limited when compared to Holy Magic as God lives within the infinite and is it's embodiment. As such both of these magics can be used by those who worship and are blessed by their Patrons, however it is conditional and limited to what their Patron wants to give them. For Daemon Magic it is called Patronage as there are numerous factions and Daemons to serve whereas Holy Magic it is strictly the Adamonic Church, which is significantly older than the practice of Patronage.

The Way of the Dragon Fist was developed by monks studying Dragons in eastern lands, it's a copy of Dragon blood magic that is studied as a martial art more than a magical art.

Curses and Wizardry are human friendly offshoots of Elven magic that can be learnt much faster and focus more on using Human's limited MP more effectively. Curses do this by relying more on communion with spirits and using the mana found in recently deceased creatures. Wizardry does this by creating extremely specific and narrow spells that magnify a small amount of natural mana as much as possible. Notably Wizardry is the field of magic that takes influence from every other field of magic it can, often trying to refine and understand techniques from other branches wherever possible.

Electro Magical is something between magic and electronics, using spirits of thunder and electricity created by the Elemental School of magic and integrating them into mechanical devices. This is the only branch of magic developed and practiced by Dwarves and Halflings, as they are both incapable of using their own mana reserves to cast spells.

Finally the Skills system is a series of mini spells that require nearly no mana (relatively) to cast and can be learnt quickly and effectively. Developed by the Paxtorium Military in order to increase the effectiveness of their soliders. This system is severely limited without any ability to expierment or create your own spells, typically has quite a low power ceiling as well.

If you read all that, bravo it was a lot.

Secondly, if you liked that you should read my book!
