Character designs — Description

edit 2 people often noted that the characters looked short, and that was because I started with a short character and kept drawing the new one next to that one, only keeping the balance between the heights in mind instead of the actual heights - so I changed them to be taller. It took a while haha

I don't know their actual heights (like in cm) but if you want some sort of reference, the only one that has a canon height is "Gerret" and he stands at 203 cm tall / 6'6 feet.

edit changed a lot of names, mostly full names that aren't really ment to be used to reference the character, and changed some ages (I basicly just changed the names were more appropriate for a fantasy arabian-inspired setting)

I've been working on this since the first of january, and it was a lot of fun
I wanted to give my characters new designs so that they would fit (actually look like they're from the same kingdom minus Idla, who comes from a different one)
They're all from this made up kingdom Gelea, where it's overall pretty warm
I just want to go over what I exactly changed per design, and the reason behind it

Captain Just like everyone I wanted to give his clothes a more Arabian vibe. I also aged him up
Snow I figured a worker would have her hair tied up instead of loose, so she's wearing a braid now. I also aged her up
Helmen Gave him a little bird friend : )
Kenny Made him a little bit more buffer to make an interesting silhouette
Chive Like a drawing I did for him before, I wanted to give his hair a little bit more harmony (before he had just weird things sticking out and it didn't felt right)
Cookie Haven't drawn him in ages so I wanted to start pretty much from the start, his main color changed from light green to a blue-ish green
Rem Another old guy I haven't drawn in ages, I wanted to give him more of a monk vibe, since he's a former monk
Cabby First of all, changed his name to Cabby instead of Cabin,, and gave him overall darker colors for his clothes
Kit Personal favourite,, I really like how his face turned out
Ellanora I always kind of had her in mind as an albino, but for that she would be really sensitive. So I gave her an umberella and gloves to hide from the bright sun of Gelea
Nadi I already changed her hair recently, I also added a more flowy dress and a nymph like her would probably walk around on bare feet
Zerra I wanted to make her more of a fire performer, she's not dressed all that fancy (like Karo) though
Karo I gave her more of an acrobat costume then a clown one (since she's suppose to be an acrobat) and gave her a little friend who's part of her act : D
Lané This guy is never seen before. I had his role in mind for such a long long time but never got around making a design. More about him when I upload the personalities
Prince Dandelyon More of a regal look, with long sleeve (things) and bolder colors, representing a (male) peacock
Huaan Since the prince represents a male peacock, I wanted to give all the servents the colors of a female peacock, which is brown and white
Chee Same goes for her, brown outfit instead of green
Gerret Made him taller to give him a more intimidating look
June Not much change other then a new outfit. I already changed her from a nekotama to a simple human (so no cat ears)
Marabell Her chair was really hard to do haha, but I also had a lot of trouble with her face (she went through 3 ittirations). I removed the white in the dress and made it more green, to give the dress a more balanced color scheme
Idla She's not from Gelea, for her dress I went more for a medievel europian style. I also made her a little younger, a 14 year old

Also changed Gerrets portrait to match his current design, where is eyelashes matches his dark eyebrows. And made a difference through text between characters who don't know their parents and parents who don't have a name and design.

BEFORE READING

I changed a lot from older personality sheets and overall story things. So if something is missing or wrong, it's probably scrapped or I want to re-write the story and it isn't revealed yet. Older drawings of these characters also may hold wrong information and personalities. Everything in this journal is correct and anything I will mention and/or draw from now on 12/2/18 (twelfth of February) will be correct as well.
