Jacque the Gardening Rito Character Reference — Description

Jacque's design was sketched around 3 to 4 months ago, inspired by the design of an awesome artist's Rito fan character Syun, but the main design is also inspired by the White-Necked Jacobin Hummingbird. I may remove the fluffy legs in future portrayals of this character.

Jacque is a member of the Rito Tribe and is known to be quite a peculiar kind due to his appearance and his interests. He resembles a hummingbird and he consumes mainly plants and fluids or substances like nectar, honey, and juices from plants, aside from water. He believed that he can live by consuming non-fully-solid food. He works as a gardener in Rito Village and is usually seen as a calm and tranquil type, which is highly probable to be among the reasons to why and how he and Oka get along so well. While he is proficient in archery, he does not often use his blue Falcon bow. Had he been grounded by weight, he would use his bow or climb to retrieve resources. To some, his appearance bear similarities to how Rito Champion Revali was portrayed in art, but Jacque himself does not see himself as part of his likeness and prefers to stay in a less aggressive life style. Occasionally, he visits the Killdeer Rito, Ave to hang out with and study about, of course, the plant life underwater. In the case of love interests, Jacque grew fond of Clara, but felt twinges of jealousy when seeing her and Bubo together from time to time. Despite this, he keeps his distance to maintain his inner peace via meditation and crystals he found in various caves outside the village. Speaking of crystals and gems, he is among the few Rito who strongly believes healing crystals truly work, regardless of the existence of naysayers. In his house, one would expect his home to store containers and displays of various gems such as Agates, Amethysts, Apatites, Quartz, and other various crystals, which is not that far from the truth. He believes in the powers of crystals, but has no knowledge of gods of ancient times. When people take his crystals when he is not around, he already knows who took it due to the ability of sense, similar to dogs (Reference to the Scent ability from Twilight Princess).
