i'm 13 so i don't work right now but i hangout at my moms work (shes a cashier at a convenience store) and i help out sometimes and she let me run the register while she helped restock and someone handed me a 100$ (the item was only 5$ and some change) and i literally died right on the spot, luckily my mom finished restocking at that time so she could help

this happens to me ALL THE TIME (and we literally have an ATM outside of the store,, wut)
and it always happens like 4 times within the first hour i get there in the morning and then i gotta ask a manager for more change while ik they're thinking "already wtf ???" ;n;
also whenever i work in the 10 items or less lane people ALWAYS DO THISSSSS and i run out of money so fast,, it's like the express lane is the ATM of the store or something ???

I remember working at Mcdonalds, everytime we got a $50 or $100, we had to call a manager over and have them make change and punch a special code into the machine. Ground the entire line to a halt.

No, it's more of a security issue, as not many people are carrying around $50s and $100s, and they need to make sure it's properly logged in the machine, and also make sure the "greedy little teenage wage-slaves" aren't trying to pocket them, I guess.
