Description

This is a Bug, Bug-a-Boo, Boggle-Boo or more widely known Bugbear. The greatest of the goblin (boggie) races, at least in Mid-World, they prey on fear and often target women and children since they are more prone to fear. The more brave you are the less it can paralyze you with fear with it's stare. This is not your pop-culture D&D Bugbear, but rather the Bugbear of fairy tales and myth, they eat children.

This was done in about 4.5 hours with a 2B drafting pen, inked with Deleter nib tipped and Micron pens with some aid from Sharpies with Higgins Indian ink and then given an ink wash for shade and tone.

As much as I like the wookie-shaped bugbears, this one's pretty cool tool. Β Definitely more goblin-like.

I never got hairy cave man with a dog nose bugbears. They're not terrifying "Bogy-beast" like the fairy tales they come from and look more like "just some generic fantasy humanoid" and more civilized, and they claim to be goblinoids but don't look like goblinoids (boggies). Oh well.

I've been using bugbears less like goblins and more like sasquatch/wildmen that other races are generally afraid of for their fearsome appearance and generally savage disposition.
