WWP - Character Line-Up — Description

I'm in love with the Wormwood Project. It's an interesting, simple, and open concept that's left me with some great character opportunities to explore~ I'm really looking forward to doing things with these characters regarding their personal and school lives. All of them have their own crack-pot issues to be toyed with, and they're all fun to draw.

I simplified Henri and Leslie's designs somewhat, and used flat colors forveryone. C: So the way they're drawn and colored is the way they will always be drawn and colored, save lighting changes where lighting indication is necessary (line colors included). When WWP gets up and running and there's more information out there, I'm hoping to maybe invest some time in a silly, continuous comic if my perfectionism and tendency to overthink doesn't interfere. Hurrp.

Going down the list from left to right, we have:

Henri Takei, a tanuki. He's a freshman in high school. Despite his ability to change between a tanuki and a humanoid form, Henri does not have the skill mastered. Usually it has unfortunate, if not amusing, results, that happen when he's nervous or flustered. He shares his name with George Takei, a man of epic proportions who transcends the universe (Sulu be with you?). Henri is an avid science fiction fan, and has an expansive knowledge / collection of cult classic films. He's French-Canadian by primary heritage, his mother being Japanese-Canadian, and linking him to a long line of very proud, if not derpy, tanuki. Henri suffers from a sexuality crisis.

Leslie Jean-Luc, a jackalope. He's a junior in high school. An active volleyball player, Leslie tries his best to be notices for his ... er ... talents. Unfortunately, his antlers prove to be problematic in games, and he often sits on the bench until his participation is a necessity. After all, the school can only afford so many popped volleyballs. Leslie is a hardcore Vegan, and incredibly health conscious, if not obsessive. He loves the outdoors, and collects flowers to press in books / preserve for his collection --- a hobby he's scarcely timid about. He enjoys reading, although what it is he reads is for anyone to guess. Leslie is Texan, though his family originated from Louisiana.

Pascal Erikson, a unicorn. He's a 3rd grader in elementary school. Wait, what? He's Walter's younger brother (see below). A very curious and ambitious child, Pascal can often be seen with Walter after school hours around town, or elsewhere, as Walt is charged with his care when necessary. Pascal is an avid student, and perhaps blissfully drenched in naivety, as he often condemns his older sibling's hack study habits and academic performance. He hopes to one day become a concert pianist. Yes. He does wear a tie and button up shirt. Every. Single. Day. Under his favorite jacket.

Walter Erikson, a unicorn. He's a sophomore in high school. Being a less than savory person is one way to describe Walt. He suffers from aggression problems, much to the lament of his acquaintances. He's not one for idle chit-chat or socialization. You could say he believes 'a man is an island', as opposed to the opposite. He doesn't believe in the process of education, finding no benefit to it. Nevertheless, he sticks with it for the sake of his father --- being rather attached, if not obedient to his parents. He hopes to one day take over his family's bakery to expand it into a more diverse restaurant, as he enjoys cooking. Walter has an expansive collection of classic films from the old black and white days, and collects memorabilia. Despite his poor academic record, he's knowledgeably versatile, and supposedly witty.

Emily Ming, a Chinese Guardian Lion. She is a freshman in high school. A Fashionista by nature, Emily is all kinds of fun to be around. She enjoys aesthetic and design, finding herself entrapped by inspiration wherever she goes ... For better or worse. She makes her own clothing (for better or worse), and often attempts to volunteer for any costuming needs the school might need. Ah. Suffice to say, her genius is ... "under appreciated". Nevertheless, she's a bubbly, if not light-hearted teenage girl. She hopes to become a set and costume designer for major stage productions. Her hobbies include photography, fishing, camping, and a surprising obsession with hockey. Her family comes from Minnesota.
