Daughter of Oceanus and Tethys.
She was the Oceanid nymph of the amber-trim cloud, Greek elektron, of storm clouds illuminated by the rays of the returning sun. Her secondary name, Ozomene, meaning "Many-Branched" suggests the cloudy source of the rainbow reaching the sea.
Along with her sisters, Electra was one of Persephone's companions when the daughter of Demeter was abducted by Hades.
With Thaumas she bore: The Harpies, Iris and Arke.
