Gorgeous image. I love the pose, the parasol, the focus. The colours are magnificent and her eyes are captivating!!

lovely, in all senses. I have the sensation I can smell that pure skin. It suggests me purity.

I really like the composition. The Art Nouveau inspiration is there, but in a subtle way.
Nice work.

thanks for that... apart from the Danae inspired one, it was a process of trying to absorb a feeling for the period and extrapolate from there...

India seems to be winning the mind games over here with the cricket.... cricket isn't cricket any more.....!

It's been like that for a while now, I think. It seems sport isn't sport without additional psychological warfare. Are you following the NZ/ENG games at all? I haven't seen any cricket in ages - it's all on SKY (and I'm poor...).

Didn't even know that pom's and kiwi's were playing... that's how parochial our press has been this season.. just concentrating on the beat-ups..

Damnit man, do you have to make me twitch to paint EVERY time you post? It killed me to put down the old one I was working on when the last pain wave hit. Now I cant FIND the damned thing when I CAN paint.
The universe. She mocks me.
I think I may just have to tuck this one into a folder though, if I still have permission, that is?
I can only take so much, after all!

...ooohhhhh god, ... Stace ...permission granted... as long as you don't twitch during the paint strokes ...wouldn't suit the original idea, at all..
go further than my offering and research Klimt, Mucha ...et al from the Viannese Art Nouveau movements...

Yay! My thanks! I'll endeavor not to jitter all over the poor girl...It would make her look.. cold.
And yeah.. I was thinking Mucha, actually.. all those wonderfully redundant, sensuously curvy frames are difficult to resist and would also set this one off very nicely I think.
*sigh* I wish I could have a go at watercolors with it...Oils are a given, naturally.. I just think it would also hold up very very well as a water color. Especially if I were to edge in a little gold leaf here and there in subtle geometric patterns to incorporate both Mucha AND Klimt. Makes me miss real paint!
I've tucked her away into a folder for further contemplation and research. I'll have to see just how inventive I can be in lieu of traditional media!

How about gold paint over aluminium foil....?

Cant do traditional media, so coming up with a similar look in digital will need serious contemplating. I want to avoid the 'over shiny look! I'm DIGITAL!' appearance to the metal I create as I am not all that fond of a hyper-digital look in my work.
Like it well enough in other artist's work. Just not my own. Go figure.
Still, I was experimenting with a gold leaf style way back when I painted Eve and her golden apple and looking at it now I think it might just do the trick. Will have to dig through my files and notes to see if I documented the process or not.
