Story from the land ~ Potrait

At this time, people believed that when someone died, their soul is still alive within their ashes. They also believed that when a body was cremated, if they were to keep some of the ashes from the body they would gain the skills and riches from that person's soul.

During this time lived a young woman known to be the most beautiful of all. Every man fell for her and this made the other girls envious and jealous of her. One day these girls got together and made a deal to kill the young woman and share her ashes to gain a part of her beauty. In the middle of the night, the girls locked all of the houses, knowing that any man would risk his life to save the beautiful young woman. The girls set flame to the young woman's house, watching until every last ember died down. However when they searched the house, they did not find the body, but something unexpected.

There in the ruins of the house they found a small pouch filled with ashes next to a portrait of the young woman from one thousand years ago...
