Child attack — Description
Excaliber sighed as he let the bandages previously wrapped around his head drop to the floor.
"Today has been a nightmare" he thought slumping down further into the matress.
He'd woken up in a strange new world with no form of contact with anyone, only a note vaugely explaining where he was and who his "rescuers" where. There was someone else in the room that he'd wished he'd recognise but at the moment Excalibers brain was coated in a thick layer of white fuzz.
He had nothing and noone.
The best he had for anything was exploring the strange small apartment he found himself in.
First it was the room he awoke in. Small and rectangular. Two beds pushed up against the wall, both adjacent two windows that decorated one wall. A nice carpet adorned the seemingly oak floors, soft fluffy and circular. Colourfull pictures were plastered up on the wall and blocks decorated with various letters were splayed out on the floor.
Next it was the main room, to the left there was a kitchen, just big enough to not be a kitchenette due to the counter space. To the right there was what could only be assumed to be a living room, it was literally only a couch on a carpet facing a little fireplace.
Directly opposite the room that Excaliber found himself in when he woke up was a very clean little bathroom, and above that bathroom was a loft. The loft had a small onsuite bathroom connected to a good sized bedroom. In the middle of the bedroom was a pile of soft toys, blankets and pillows, arranged like a nest of sorts. There was handdrawn pictures all around the walls of the room and lots of toys scattered on the floor.

It all was too much to handle in one go. So thus Excaliber resigned himself to sulking in his room.
He rubbed his face with his hands in semi frustration before propping his head up with his hands on his knees, hands gently touching his cheeks. They still stung from when he ripped the bandgae pads off.
"Fuck this" he grumbled under his breath straighenting his back once more, his throat was still sore from when he woke up. Excaliber hadn't the faintest idea why but he really didn't care.
Excaliber looked over at the sleeping figure resting in the bed next to him with mournfull eyes. He really wanted to regognise them, he really did, but he just... couldn't. mayyybee if he just got a better look at the rest of them, just maybe but no. He wouldn't, couldn't do that to the poor guy sleeping next to him, Excaliber reasoned that it'd be a horrible thing to awake to and its just rude. Excaliber sighed once more, nothing was going his way and he hated it. "I should sleep" Excaliber thought, he really needed some rest and at least a temporary escape from his situation. But just as he was going to lay down to remove himself from his thoughts he heard the door next to the kitchen open and small footsteps entering the apartment.
"We got food, thats enough" One voice sternly stated.
"YEEaaahh, but its not the type of bread that I like" Another one proclaimed
"I'm NOT getting you sugary bread. You eat enough sugar as is Naru!" The previous one shouted.
Excaliber could hear the presumed Naru grumbling from the room over. The voices sounded like children, young children, maybe adolesents at the oldest, but he couldn't care less as the arguing wasn't helping the headache Excaliber was nursing at the moment.
The little footsteps got louder and louder as they seemingly approached the door leading into the room that Excaliber was in, the good thing about that is the arguing got quieter and quieter as they approached. Excalibers eyes were fixated on the door, waiting inpaitently for it to open.
The doorknob turned unsuccessfully with quiet childish cursing following suit, Excaliber assumed the children were short until he heard an angry "Don't open the door with your tail Naru" being barked at the person who was attempting to open the door. Both Excaliber and the person on the other side of the door scoffed.
After that they managed to get the door open but noone came in the room, that surprised Excaliber a little bit until he heard a second pair of feet approching the door. "So they're BOTH gonna come in. thats fun" Excaliber thought to himself with a small sigh.

After waiting for a little bit the two children finally entered the room, they were talking to eachother about something, someone. But after they both looked up they ceised their converstion in favour of running up to Excaliber which startled him.
"You're awake!" They both exitedly shouted, Excaliber only stared at them nerviously. Diiid they want something? They seemed really happy at the fact that he was awake but why?
"ooh man, you've been asleep for like DAYS" They darker blue one emoted using their arms to empasie their point "Baba Eeko said that if you sleept for any longer you might have brain damag." How they talked was.. weird. They pronnouced everything correctly but dammage, they said damaGe, with an emphasis on the g. They clearly were a young child, or just sucked at the pronouciation part of primary school English.
"They said might though, and that brain dammage isn't likely to happen in someone who's had a nasty accident and was sleeping for a while unless they hit their head." The lighter blue one corrected. This child was different from the other one, they talked normally and without the expressive hand movements.
"Yeah but still! It coulda happened! But anyway!" The darker blue one smiled cheerfully with their last statement, "I'm Naru and this is Rana!" Naru gestured to themself and then to the other kit standing next to her. Rana waved with a little smile.
"Are you feeling alright mister? Did you sleep well?" Rana asked with kindess in her voice, something that Excaliber wasn't used to.
"Are you hungry? I'm hungry, me and Rana are gonna have dinner soon if you want to join us!" Naru exitedly said. "Oh! While you're awake I mustnt forget, we got you clothes incase you wanted them!" Naru said before rushing out of the room with Excaliber and Rana staring at her while she left.
"I'm sorry about my friend mister. She can be a little overly energetic at times" Rana apologised "But still, how are you feeling?"
"I... I'm not really sure.." Excaliber answered truthfully, his voice hoarse and scratchy, "my head hurts, my body hurts and I just don't feel good whatsoever" He held his emotions back, children shouldn't be exposed to unbridled rage and swearing.
"Well I'm sorry to hear that" Rana frowned slighly before perking up again "I'm gonna start making dinner, we're having curry tonight if you feel up to join us!" and with that she wandered off, and just as she did Naru came back holding some clothes in between her paws, "I found them!" She grinned before placing the clothes on the bed next to Excaliber "I hope you like em! We didn't really know what you'd like so we went with comfy" Naru said before wandering out of the room with a wave goodbye and closing the door behind them.
Excaliber just sat there, thinking. Processing all that just happened. It was a lot for someone who only a few minutes ago was dead alseep after a bad 'accident'. He turned his head to look at the clothes that lay next to him, a cargidan, some pants and a shirt. They gave him a strange form of comfort just being around them, something about his life before waking up in the so called grove. Excaliber couldn't really resist the urge to wear them, he didn't really know why. They were just some random clothes given to him by some kids he just met, they shouldn't feel this important to him.
The shirt was soft and warm against his fur, the pants had a nice fabric. Not to restrictive but also not too baggy, and the cardigan was plush and cuddly. It was like wearing a big hug forever. He loved it.

"Well they've been nothing but nice to me.... It can't hurt to at least try to be nice to them, positivity never killed the cat after all" Excaliber laughed quietly to himself before leaving the room to go join Rana and Naru for dinner. Things are different for him, and he shouldn't try and fight that. No one should.

Anyway TLDR; Excaliber was depresso and then met Rana and Naru who gave him clothes that he really likes and he's gonna try to be nicer to them bc he was a bit hostlie to them at first
