Description
Another mythical beast. Offspring of queen Paziphae and a bull. Unlike classic depiction of a bull headed athlete (with an axe. Why always an axe?) I imagine it as a heavili disfigured freak, something that would be suitable for Stalker games, miserable and mindless, Having problems with balance this creature cannot walk upright and crawls mostly like Gollum. And it uses its' horns, hands and bones of it's victims as only weapon.Minotaur also appers in Divine Comedy.

True, but more elongated bovine skull would possibly help here a bit. 
it's weird, There are a lot of hybrids, centaurs, harpies, sirens, satyrs, but the bull dude only gets to look like that because of a curse

True. Some of mythological "monsters" are actually very tragic characters.

The torment, called an abomination, forced to feed on living men and women who scream at your appearance, locked away in a deep, dark maze,no fire to cook your food, the raw flesh rotting and giving you diseases in the later time before the next sacrifice has arrived. Minos' hatred and scorn on his face as his guards chased you with spears into the maze, your mother's look of shame, no love, no hope, for even the gods are uncaring, viewing you only as a tool for tormenting Minos, a means to an end who has no further use. Unable to gesticulate your feelings as you were never taught either word or letter, the throbbing constant headaches of madness setting in, and no happy end, but to bleed out from a sword wound by some puffed up so called hero.

I really like your thoughts on the subject. They match mine but you do much better job expressing them into words than I ever could. In fact I am considering drawing the Minotaur/Asterion again. may I quote your words in the description?

Ciekawa wizja mutanta - przez te kalekie nogi trochę kojarzy się z potworem z "Labiryntu fauna", tzn. mimo pozornie wątłej budowy stanowi większe zagrożenie niż zdrowy człowiek. I jeszcze ten "kościosztylet" w łapie - widać, że to potwór o w miarę ludzkim rozumie.
Jedyne, co tu nie za bardzo pasuje, to głowa - owszem, wygląda całkiem całkiem, ale trochę zbyt "udana" w sensie genetycznym jak na mutanta. Ja w swojej wizji mam coś a la joemonster.org/art/22446 , tak aby był bykiem jedynie z punktu widzenia ówczesnych ludzi.

Tak, ta przypadłóśc skojarzyą mi się z Minotaurem jak o niej po raz pierwszy przeczytałem.. Ja jednak nie suzkam czegoś do bólu realistycznego, staram się zachowąć coś z oryginalnego mitu. A głowa, żeby było dziwniej jest praktycznie bez sierśći.
Co do nó to wydaje mi sie że to system nerwowy jest zbyt upośledzony by to stworzenie mogłostanąć prosto a nie same nogi

Yes, deformed creatures, spawn of incest and adulteration are always realy weird and scary, reminds me of a X-files episode i was watching other day called 'home'. the greeks were fucked up, there is a brazillian (really weird) porn movie that reconstructs that 'act' from Paziphae. you really don't wanna see it.

Mika Waltari's 'Egyptian' has an interesting different interpretation of Minotaur and the God of Minos. (Then again it's one of my favourite books.)

Although the first time I started reading it when I was 6 what happened to Minea made me so sad I stopped reading.
Have you ever drawn the 'God of Crete' from that? I don't remember if it had a name, I'm pretty sure the high priest was called Minotaur.

I was very sad ad that moment too even though I was some 11 or 12 when I first read it. Since then I read the book many times.
It was a giant snake with bull like head.. who knows I might draw it some day. I plan to draw Jormungand from Norse mythology and I might incorporate that inot my design.

I have to wonder, how would a bull-like head work for a serpent-like creature? I'm not sure if it had horns, but I assumed so.
How would that work for a creature that swims and crawls head first?
Would they need to be less like actual horns, and more like parts of it's head (like it's mouth) that move and only look like bull's horns when it's opening it's maw or something?

I think the axe was a religious symbol in bronzeage minoan religion, crete was the origin of the myth?...Great minotaur btw!

I see. that might be tha point. But still I meant mostly modern depictions, like in fantasy or RPGs. The original ones, from ancient greece I've seen, depict Theseus and Minotaur doing some hand to hand wrestling, or at best minotaur is using piece of rock as a weapon.

I see...maybe the standard double axe is Narnian? But sure such a beast should have the gripstrength to wield a big weapon, like a club, mace or axe. While being perhaps too primitive for swordplay.
