Description
I feel like it's been forever since I drew him again. Has it?Our little limbless hero has still never left my life. My god, his second game's 20th Anniversary was last year in October. Well, I won't forget this year though. This year is his 25th Anniversary in September, and Ubisoft better make it special for him. At least an announcement for a game to bring him back to the 3D Dimension. I think we've gotten enough 2D games already. Sure they're colorful and beautiful, but the mobile and IOS titles are enough.
Next to Hoodlum Havoc, Rayman 2: The Great Escape is actually my most favorite game because of it's gameplay, the environment and dark atmosphere (it was the first game that introduced me to the dark themes). Each of the releases are actually different than each other. The N64 has different music due to hardware limitations, the PC upgraded to better graphics and music, the Dreamcast has some extra content, the PS1 version has some removed content due to limitations but adds exclusive content to make up for it. The PS2 version is a enhanced remake, where it has enhanced models, open world-like hub-worlds, and more extra content like mini-games, bosses, and expanded areas. The Dreamcast version and PS2 version are both considered the best out of all the previous versions (in my opinion at least), with the former being the definitive version and the PS2 for it's extra goodies. But there's lots of love for the other versions too! I own the PS2 version, as well as the PC and PS1 version. Unfortunately, I have never played the Dreamcast version because I don't own one, but I might.
With the remakes/remaster that we've been getting (like Spyro, Crash, MediEvil, Resident Evil, and Battle for Bikini Bottom), I truly hope in the near future Ubisoft will make a remaster/remake from the ground up of Rayman 2: The Great Escape. Seeing the game in today's graphics would be very, very Awesome!
I've heard that a fan-remake is being worked on by a dedicated group of fans, and from the looks of what they have so far, it's got me excited so far!
Well, hope you guys like the picture! Now I need to go to sleep.
