Catch — Description
People from nearby places come down for fishing on weekends with their nets/fishing rods. Small freshwater fish is a rich source of protien and a big hit in Odisha. Techinque used in this picture requires 2 people to hold the net and corner the fish in the still water near the river planctons. The net is pulled up after dragging it for 10 - 20 feets. The weeds are scanned and then thrown out leaving just the fish in the net.

This is a tedious process and not many fish come into the net at one go. After taking out all the weeds, the catch is then bagged and the process is repeated until they have enough fish for a meal.
