Summer's Dissolution — Description

This is the river you follow part of the way to Chasteen Creek Falls. (Chasteen Creek is a much smaller tributary.) One washed away golden leaf foreshadows summer’s weakening bonds and the coming bare bones of winter. Best expressed but Robert Frost’s poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay".
Nothing Gold Can Stay.
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
