I find working with very opaque brushes forces you to consider light and shadow (and color, if you're painting in color) more carefully, so it's good for new artists who have to learn how to think about the way light is going to fall. Of course any full piece I do is going to require more steps, and more brushes, and sometimes my process changes depending on how I feel, but these are the basics that I think can apply across the board (this is also my favorite brush! Look at it and bask in its wonder!).
