I remember when I got an F. My dad called me a dumb ass and told me to try harder, and I love him for it.

Well that was a nice twist XD
But it does make me think of what I'm doing now, and if it's worth doing. Well, props to you, it can make someone have a crisis.

grades are never equal to success in life. sure higher grades can equal to a good college, diplomas then good work but you don't always need to have high grades to be successful in life. most of the geniuses and inventors/famous people did not finish their studies but became successful

still, i believe you don't always need great grades to be successful in life. Sometimes, you can use talents or skills. There are some jobs that don't require a diploma, like painting then selling them or having them at an art gallery, or being a professional gamer, or being a youtube star. They're not "professional" but they can get you somewhere in life. And not all famous people are stupid. Do not always rely on great grades in life, because knowledge can only get you so far in life.

That's very interesting what you explained! And you have right! Though, in some cases, really intelligent people have great emotional trouble and that can wreck havoc on school grades when they're young. That's kind of because of what you explained about intelligence: To show your intelligence, you should gain knowledge. When you have emotional trouble, you can't study and gain knowledge. Though, that doesn't make you less intelligent.
I'm kind of intelligent and want to share an experience: I never studied much in college and got full Fs for two half years. Then, there was a three step exam for a prestigious student scholarship in a foreign country offered by my college. I applied. All other candidates had higher grades, knew their stuff well, and gave better answers when asked about their area of knowledge. Me? When asked simple questions like "What is X?" I answered "Hmm, X? I don't know. What is it, honestly? " Three months later, I was on a plane, sent to a prestigious university with a wallet full of scholarship money in my bag...It's the same with everything I do. When I was 22, I was made the marketing manager of a firm, although I knew little about marketing. When I play a computer game, I'm made the head of an alliance although I've been playing for a week. When I attend a guitar course, I'm made to give a solo concert. Same for piano...When I cook, everyone says I'm the best. And that I believe, is because of intelligence. But people like me are probably rare.
Edit: Though, don't think I reached a great place in life. I caught an autoimmune disease and am miserable, lol.

Love the strip. You're a good as artist. Confused though, what is the Dad about to do in the last slide? Is he pointing? Is he preparing to SLAP the mother? If that's the case, I hope it's not true to life. Worried...
