Description
This shows the process I use when re-creating my lost TSR artwork. First, I take scan the image as it appears in the original book. Notice the poor image quality of the original printing! Then I overlay a grid. I use this grid as a guide when re-drawing the piece; I don't trace it. Then I take the opportunity to improve upon the original in small ways here and there; in this case, I've mainly added stonework to the wall. The next step will be the final inked lines.Check out my Kickstarter project to re-create my artwork from TSR: [link]

Always loved this part in the module, and this art made the problem even more interesting.

Pretty smart trick. Did the same thing back in school when doing magnifying practice, taking small images and making a larger "copy".
Also definitely kudos for not just tracing the images, and also for enhancing and improving stuff.

Very cool. Hopefully these before/after images make it into that Art of Jeff Dee book you keep hinting at!

Hm...the girl on the right seems to be looking off in two directions.
That said...I had no idea you were the artist in some of my favorite old modules!

Are the book versions that rough? Now I have to go back and check my copy!
