A bright, festive view of the "Danny," as this remarkable vessel is affectionately known. Built in 1903, the Daniel Adamson is a rare survivor from the golden age of steam, originally serving as a tug and a passenger tender for the Manchester Ship Canal Company.
Dressed in colourful maritime signal flags and celebratory bunting, the ship is shown here at its permanent home in the heart of Liverpool’s historic docklands. The vessel is famous for its stunning Art Deco interiors, added during a 1930s refit to provide a luxurious environment for visiting dignitaries and company directors.
After being saved from the scrap heap by a dedicated team of volunteers, the ship was meticulously restored and now operates as a moving museum and leisure craft. In the background, the modern silhouette of the Museum of Liverpool provides a sharp contrast to the Danny’s classic coal-fired funnel and wooden bridge, symbolising the continuous thread of maritime innovation that defines the city's waterfront.
