Nesting Box Display — Description

A photograph capturing an educational outdoor display at the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA. This wooden structure showcases a variety of customished birdhouses and wildlife boxes, each uniquely designed to attract and protect specific native species.
From the tall, slotted bat roosting box on the left to the varying entrance hole sizes optimised for different birds, the display serves as a brilliant visual guide for local conservation. Notice the distinct lack of perches—a deliberate design choice to prevent predators and invasive species from gaining easy access to the nests.
