Inflatable Life Raft — Description

An inflatable yellow rubber life raft recovered from the wreckage of the WWII German submarine U-534, on display inside a glass exhibit case at the U-Boat Story museum at Woodside Ferry Terminal, Birkenhead, Liverpool.
Despite spending over 48 years submerged beneath the Kattegat after the vessel was sunk by an RAF Liberator bomber on 5 May 1945, the emergency dinghy remains remarkably intact. The display case also includes original instructional diagrams, operational manuals, and artillery shells recovered alongside the submarine's historical equipment.
