Yep. Cyberdemon was the toughest monster in classic Doom because of how much punishment that thing could take. 400 bullets, 200 plasma shots, roughly 40ish super shotgun blasts or rockets, or 4 BFG blasts.

Saw a streamer playing Doom for the first time. When she got to the cyberdemon, her initial reaction was to just stare at it for a few seconds. Then she quietly said, "No."

The hero looks to be quite the underdog in this instance, but I hope he manages to pull out a win!
And image is awesome by the way, it really looks like it could be the cover of a comic book or a poster! Not sure if you had any particular inspiration but it's really well done either way, great job!

Doom II was actually the first Doom I ever played. Ultimate Doom came later.

I know I played E1M4 for a bit as a kid. My dad took my older brother and me to his office to play Doom (I wasn't supposed to know, but my brother spilled the beans, so Dad begrudgingly brought me to play the shooting game). I've asked him since, and Dad thinks it was a coworker that had it and shared it (Dad's never been into computer games, much less shooters). I suspect it was the shareware.
We later got Doom II at home. I think I only played it with cheats at the time. And I always had to have specific permission from Mom or Dad to play Doom or Wolfenstein.
